Islam bashing in this century
Pretty much from the beginning of this century there has been plenty of anti-islamic rhetoric in global politics. What is missing is more peaceful protests from the muslim community. No, you simply cannot ask muslims to carry a special id-card, Mr Trump. That will be violating their fundamental rights. A community must not accept being labeled as terrorists. We must see more peaceful protests. Not suicide bombers. Muslims form a huge community and can exhibit a graceful protest than can intimidate anyone. I suppose leadership might be the problem.

Why did Columbus have to find routes again?
Way before Columbus, Alexander of Greece knew the route to almost everywhere. But then during the so called dark ages, Europe lost connection to the world. Rome left the middle east. Kind of like history repeating now. The way they are closing borders and shutting themselves in makes me believe that some such political mess happened hundreds of years ago.

On Abortion
Thank God that the US justice system does not depend on misguided church lobbyists and can make decisions that are right for the society. Since most of the lawmakers are men, when they talk about abortion, they might want to consider what conditions would be right for men if they had to give birth to young ones. And what would men do if they thought they could not support a child they were bringing in to this world.

US Immigration reform
In the 90s it was a privilege to immigrate to US. Visas were difficult to get. Not anymore.

Benghazi Committee Hearing
The Benghazi committee hearing looks a lot like a filibuster. Trey Gowdy needs to be voted out of office. This is a mockery of the act of caring for an ambassador who died doing his duty.
Prison reform
There is something fundamentally wrong about prisons. Nothing good comes out of putting people in a cage. I would say make people involved in minor crimes part of programs that will bring some goodness in them. Make them believe in the good of society. Most criminals rarely meet decent people. Exiles, living on reservations, etc. are some things I can think of.

The problem with ISIS
The much feared ISIS is nothing but a group of mercenaries. They typically fight for Sunnis and is guided by team Saudi Arabia. But ISIS has only trained for supporting dictatorial regimes. They are very good at keeping regimes in place. But not so good at toppling regimes. Hence they are not seeing success in Syria. On the other hand dictators of the region are very good at staying in power. Thus the Syrian war is so far advantage Assad. Assad keeps Syria secular but as of now he has too much blood of his countrymen on his hands. He needs to go.
